SoSe 2026

Dear Participants,

I am happy to welcome you to Skandinavische Architektur 2026 at THWS Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences. Our opening event will take place on Monday, 13 April 2026, starting at 10:00 am, and I very much hope you can join us. I’ll be sharing further details shortly.

This semester, we will explore Nordic architecture using analogue tools—pens, paper, and sketchbooks. The course is an experiment: together, we’ll read, think, and develop evaluation criteria, reflecting the participatory spirit of Nordic culture.

Our focus is on slow reading, independent thinking, and careful argumentation. Digital tools and online research take a back seat, giving you space to concentrate, reflect, and discover ideas at your own pace. We’re not just looking at what architecture looks like—we’re learning how architects shape ideas through thought, writing, and imagination.

Attendance is mandatory. Your presence, contributions to discussions, active participation in workshops, and role in shaping evaluation criteria are essential. More than two unexcused absences may result in failure.

You are not here simply to admire architecture—you are here to think, question, and imagine. ;)
