Youth Collaboration for Sustainable African Futures (YouSustain) is an international project that aims to empower youth organisations and young people in Sub-Saharan Africa (Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, and Zambia) and Europe (Germany and Italy) by enhancing their capacities to address social, economic, and environmental challenges through decolonial and participatory approaches. It seeks to challenge colonial legacies in migration governance, knowledge production, and youth inclusion.
In the Practice Seminar, students will develop a research framework together with the youth participants in all project countries that lays the knowledge foundation for the project in four core areas: 1) History and knowledge production, 2) Climate change, 3) Migration and refugee movements, 4) Global politics and governance. The research will be conducted in a process of virtual collaboration with the guidance of the project coordinator, Farafina Institute, and THWS.
